Dmitri Shostakovich's Trio No. 1 for violin, cello and piano in C minor, Op. 8 was composed in 1923 and premiered in 1925.

This is the first of two piano trios composed by the author, the second trio being written twenty years later.

This first Shostakovich trio, written in 1923, is a youthful work by Shostakovich, written during a stay in Crimea and dedicated to Tatiana Glivienko. It was premiered on March 20, 1925.
