Frank Martin : Trio on Irish folk tunes

The premiere of the Trio for Archduke Rudolph of Austria on April 11, 1814, was one of Beethoven's last public appearances, even though he was almost completely deaf.

In 1925, at the request of a rich American, Frank Martin composed this Trio filled with gaiety and rhythmic energy, richly highlighting the three instruments of the trio successively.
